A latte to go please…?

Starbucks App for iPhone: courtesy Starbucks I was a blackberry for a long time. Then I became an iPhone. (I was a pc now a mac kid of deal).  For one simple reason: I did not want to carry 3 different devices? No. The real reason? The app store. Apps for the iPhone are just amazing. The most recent app that actually appeals to me is the new Starbucks App. I get many starbucks gift cards and I either forget to carry them with me when I go get coffee or never know what the balance is on the card. Now I can enter the gift card information into my starbucks account via the app on iPhone. And guess what? Not only does it tell me the balance, it also substitutes the card by generating a barcode on the app itself. Thats mobile commerce right there my friends!

Now i just need to remember to carry my iPhone with me.. :)

Back again..

September 17th, 2009 by Sandhya Borra

I return from a 4 month long nagging back pain. Its still there. I am just learning to deal with it. I have to find a way to do what I do without the pain hindering me or making my form worse.  For some things there is no quick fix.

That said, the summer is almost ending. Spent the entire summer doing nothing but resting. No particular reason why I rested the way I rested. I should have gone to the gym and strengthened other muscle groups at least! There is always room for change and improvement isnt there? :)

So I guess it has been really eating at me that life is passing by – wait, “flying” by while I had become one of those silent spectators who do nothing and was disgusted with myself this morning. I chided myself for letting my spirit down. Hurdles are the true test to one’s perseverance and dedication in life and I had failed. But its not too late to pick up where I had dropped off. So it is officially on from today.

I need to get back to the point where I can train my upper body without hurting my lower back too much. I am setting up a game plan. It includes swimming, dancing, walking, biking and Photography. My choices are somehow will fit very well into the gameplan and this time, no one and nothing is stopping me. No more time will pass by without me giving it my 100%.

And I just loved this!

April 14th, 2009 by Sandhya Borra

I just loved this when i read this somewhere:

“Its not having what you want that’s important; It is wanting what you already have”

Strikes so much sense into a wide range of things. We never appreciate what we have or who we have. we always have this picture of something else or someone else. Life in all its unfairness is sometimes fair. Penny for the thought!

fused.jpgAnyone ever wonder about the art of glass making. And no! I do not mean the glasses that carry wine! I meant the glass artifacts and jewelery that are actually picking up a lot of vibe in the fashion world these days. Glass jewelery is expensive. I was window shopping for some in Lambertville and realized I cannot shell out 100 bucks for a small piece of a glass pendant. And then the other day, I ran into a display of the same on sale and guess where? Of course, NYC!

mosaicfused.JPGFused Glass jewelery is really cool to look at and it actually got me into thinking maybe I want to start making my own fused glass pendants! I did check out a few courses here and there but no solid leads yet.

Anyone out there has any suggestions or ideas? email me!

Year of breaks

April 13th, 2009 by Sandhya Borra

2009 seems to be the year where I seem to be taking longer breaks and more often, from blogging. But as is the case with true love, it is a passion to write and genuine bloggers who love to write always return.
Its been a year of shifts on many paradigms. Life took many twists and turns and hence the longer recesses from returning to do what we love to do. Once the dust settles in everything is clear again.

So, as I embark on my blogging journey again, I would like to start pulling in a few ideas that seem to make sense, even though they don’t fall within the general theme of the blog (which is “running”). As more and more diverse posts emerge, I probably might consider branching them out into separate sites. But for now, with my attendance being not so bright in the blogosphere, I wish to keep things simple and write everything in one place.
